Taste of Thailand in Copenhagen
In Copenhagen, Chef Chumpol headlined the “Taste of Thailand” event, held at the Thai ambassador’s residence from September 22 to 24. The event celebrated the vibrant flavors of Thailand, highlighting the unique dishes from the country’s five regions.
Guests were treated to a variety of traditional Thai dishes, including Thai curry noodles, green curry, papaya salad, rice noodles with crab curry, and the ever-popular mango sticky rice. These dishes not only reflected the depth of Thai cuisine but also demonstrated its use of fresh ingredients and bold flavors.
The event, organized in collaboration with the Danish food association, La Chaîne des Rotisseurs, also featured Thai beverages, traditional music, and performances. Guests were given Thai souvenirs such as curry paste, food recipes, and brochures, offering them a chance to bring a piece of Thailand home with them.
Amazing Thai Food Night in Geneva
Chef Chumpol’s culinary journey through Europe continued in Geneva, where he hosted the “Amazing Thai Food Night, Amazing Thailand” on September 28 at the Four Seasons Hotel. The event showcased his culinary skills with a live demonstration of Thai cooking techniques, impressing attendees with the intricacies of Thai cuisine.
The evening was organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Bern in collaboration with the hotel and featured more than just food. Traditional Thai dance and Muay Thai performances enriched the cultural experience for guests, highlighting the deep connection between Thai food, culture, and tradition.
A Symbol of Thai Soft Power
Chef Chumpol participated in both events as a member of the Thai National Soft Power Committee, emphasizing the significance of promoting Thai culture through its cuisine. His presence in Europe demonstrated how food can be a powerful tool in bridging cultures and creating lasting connections.
