Mount Everest Nepali and Indian Cuisine Set to Open in November
A new culinary addition is on the horizon for downtown Harrisburg, as Mount Everest Nepali and Indian Cuisine prepares to open its doors by the end of this year. The restaurant aims to offer residents a taste of Indian and Nepalese dishes, filling a notable gap in the city’s dining options.
Located at 19 N. 3rd Street in Strawberry Square, the restaurant is expected to welcome guests in November, according to a recent news release.
Excitement from the Owners
Shree Paija and Sarita Lama, the owners of Mount Everest, are no strangers to the restaurant scene. They also operate Khana Indian Bistro in Hershey and are thrilled to bring their culinary expertise to Harrisburg.
“I’m really happy to get this space,” Paija said in the news release. “There is no Indian food available in downtown Harrisburg, and folks need an Indian/Nepalese food option.”
A Fresh Start in a New Location
The 2,200-square-foot restaurant will occupy a space that was previously home to Fresa Bistro. The owners plan to make some minor interior alterations to create a welcoming atmosphere for diners. A ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand-opening event will be announced closer to the opening date, marking the official launch of this new culinary venture.
