Compassionate Cuisine Serves Over 10,000 Meals This Year
Elaine Russell is on a mission to combat hunger in Mississauga. As the founder of Compassionate Cuisine, she leads a small, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to providing fresh meals to those in need.
Russell’s ultimate goal is simple: no one in Canada should go to bed hungry. “I owe that to my fellow man, to help them, and make sure they eat,” she shared in an interview with CBC Toronto.
For nearly a year, Compassionate Cuisine has been preparing homemade meals for the community. The group relies on donations and personal funds to cover many of its expenses. So far, they have successfully served more than 10,000 meals to individuals who need them.
