Generational Recipes with a Family Touch

“Our grandparents handed down the book of recipes to our parents, and they handed it to us,” Rami explains. “We’ve continued to make the same food that we grew up with.” The menu is a reflection of the team’s heritage, featuring beloved dishes prepared just as they’ve always been.

Many may recognize Zayt & Zaatar from its previous locations in West Lakes or Campbelltown. The restaurant even gained a massive following on social media, with one of their TikTok videos going viral and receiving over 10.6 million views. The popularity of the video led to an exciting opportunity: they were approached by the owner of the building at Rundle Street, and the rest is history.

The Same Delicious Menu with a Fresh Location

The menu at Zayt & Zaatar remains consistent across all locations, ensuring that loyal customers can enjoy their favorite dishes. Rami says, “We’ve got a lot of vegetarian dishes, a lot of meat dishes, and charcoal skewers. Our mezze includes hommus, baba ghanouj, tabouli, fattoush. As for mains, our Barramundi harrah is very, very popular. Mixed skewers are really popular as well.”

The team’s dedication to tradition shines through in every dish. “We keep it traditional, just like we do it at home,” Rami adds. “We’re very welcoming, and we spend time with our customers. It’s not just about eating and leaving; we engage with our guests, share stories about Lebanon, the food, and the culture. We make you feel at home.”

A Warm and Welcoming Atmosphere

The interior of Zayt & Zaatar is just as inviting as the food. The walls are adorned with chalk drawings, including a recent addition that reads: “You step into a world of flavors, culture and warmth. Every table is set with care, every meal is crafted to tell a story of authentic Lebanese traditions.”

At Zayt & Zaatar, guests are immersed in not only delicious food but also the art and culture that tell the story of Lebanon’s rich culinary heritage.
