A new Mediterranean-inspired dining destination is set to open in North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose neighborhood this week. Bouboulina, a restaurant serving dishes influenced by Mediterranean cuisine, is scheduled to open its doors on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 915 Meeting St. The venue promises to be a culinary celebration of fresh, high-quality ingredients, with a focus on wood-fired grilling, premium steak cuts, fresh seafood, and house-baked breads.

Founders Behind the Concept
The team behind Bouboulina consists of Ted Xenohristos, Dimitri Moshovitis, and Ike Grigoropoulos, all seasoned restaurateurs who are also co-founders of the popular Mediterranean fast-casual chain, CAVA. Bouboulina is their third restaurant in the Pike & Rose neighborhood, joining the already popular Melina, which opened in 2021, and the French Mediterranean concept Julii, which debuted in 2018. With these successful ventures, the team brings a wealth of experience and culinary expertise to their newest endeavor.

A Heroine’s Legacy
The restaurant is named after Bouboulina, a Greek heroine who played a key role in the Greek War of Independence. She commanded her own fleet and private army, becoming the first woman in history to attain the rank of admiral in the world’s naval forces. Her story of strength and leadership is reflected in the bold flavors and unique culinary experience that Bouboulina aims to offer.
