Claude Bosi Opens Josephine Shop In Marylebone

Last year, chef Claude Bosi and his wife Lucy opened a French bistro in Chelsea to much acclaim. However, for those of us who don’t live in west London, the restaurant isn’t very accessible by public transport.

For some time, we’ve been hearing rumours that the chef was planning a new location in a more central location, and now they’ve finally confirmed that a Marylebone opening is imminent.

Bosi has taken over the space at Daylesford Organic, a sizeable space on Blandford Street. The restaurant will once again focus on French cooking, and while the original Chelsea restaurant was focused on Lyonnais, this one will focus more on “19th century Parisian bistro culture”. The food will apparently be based on the bistros that Bosi visited while working for Alain Ducasse and Alain Passard in Paris. The menu here will include:

Soufflé au Camembert (a variation on Chelsea’s premium St. Felicien cheese souffle)

A focus on seafood, including oysters, horma mayonnaise, langoustines and crayfish

Classic dishes such as foie gras and steak tartare

And mains such as beef filet and chicken morillon

There will also be Rhum Baba cuts from the original Josephine, as well as Grand Marnier chilled soufflés and a selection of French cheeses.

They will also be adding a breakfast menu to this location. So for your morning meal, you can go for a light Birch muesli with apple and pomegranate, or go a little more indulgent and go for scrambled eggs with black truffles. These will, of course, be served with freshly baked baguettes.

The new location will feature an outdoor terrace (which seats 16), while the interior design will be inspired by classic French bistros and brasserie styles. So if you haven’t been to Josephine in Chelsea yet, this new store is a must.
