Vietnam Achieves Record Fruit and Vegetable Export Revenues, Reaching 3.8 Billion USD

by Ella

Vietnam has reported impressive earnings of over 3.8 billion USD from fruit and vegetable exports in the first seven months of 2024, marking a substantial increase of 23.4% compared to the same period last year. July alone contributed 477 million USD to this total, reflecting an 18% growth year-on-year, as reported by the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association (VINAFRUIT).

Experts attribute this significant rise in export turnover to robust demand from international markets, particularly driven by increased exports of durian, dragon fruit, and bananas.

Vietnam’s key export markets for fruits and vegetables have all shown notable growth rates. China remains the largest market, with exports totaling 2.16 billion USD in the first half of 2024, up 22% from the previous year and constituting 64.9% of Vietnam’s total exports. The Republic of Korea followed with 164 million USD (up 54.6%), and the United States with 157 million USD (up 33.5%).

VINAFRUIT anticipates continued favorable conditions for Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable exports throughout the remainder of the year, buoyed by abundant supply during the harvest seasons and sustained global demand growth.
