Japanese fast-food chain Matsuya is set to open its first Hong Kong location on August 11, in Jordan’s Chuang’s London Plaza. Known for its Gyumeshi dishes, the restaurant will feature a minimalist Japanese design and offer a range of affordable Japanese meals, including set meals and curry.
Founded in Tokyo in 1966, Matsuya has grown to operate 1,265 restaurants in Japan and 18 internationally. The new Hong Kong outlet spans over 3,000 square feet and accommodates 45 diners.
Jun Hamano, Managing Director of Matsuya Foods Hong Kong Co Limited, expressed enthusiasm about the launch: “Hong Kong people enjoy dining out, and Japanese cuisine is very popular here. We aim to deliver high-quality food and service to satisfy local tastes.”
Hamano also revealed plans to open another restaurant in Hong Kong later this year and emphasized the company’s commitment to local operations, including purchasing, product development, and human resources.
