Local Favorite Named Best in Queens
As summer draws to a close, one New York City eatery has been celebrated as the top spot for frozen desserts in Queens. Twist It Top It has been named the winner of the Queens’ Best Frozen Dessert Competition.
Competition Highlights
The two-week competition saw Twist It Top It, known for its diverse offerings of frozen yogurt, gelato, and crepes, emerge as the crowd favorite. Nearly 1,000 votes were cast during the event, with fourteen businesses competing for the top spot.
Official Announcement
Tom Grech, President and CEO of the Queens Chamber of Commerce, announced the results, stating, “As we wind down the summer season and welcome fall, we have tallied the votes, and Queens residents have made their choice. We are delighted to honor Twist It Top It as the inaugural winner of the Queens’ Best Frozen Dessert competition.”
Top Three Finalists
The competition’s top three businesses were:
- Twist It Top It – Located on Cross Bay Boulevard, Howard Beach.
- Mara’s Ice Cream Parlor – Situated on Rockaway Beach Boulevard, Rockaway Beach.
- LuLu’s Bakery – Found on Union Turnpike, Fresh Meadows.
Awards and Recognition
Twist It Top It received a commemorative plaque and a complimentary year of membership to the Queens Chamber of Commerce. Mara’s Ice Cream Parlor and LuLu’s Bakery were also recognized with certificates for their outstanding performance.
With its victory, Twist It Top It has solidified its reputation as a premier destination for frozen desserts in Queens.
