Celebrity chef Failatu Abdul-Razak, widely known as Chef Faila, has launched her debut cookbook titled Authentic Ghanaian Cuisine. The event took place at the Accra Tourism Information Centre and marks a significant milestone following her recent attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

The book launch attracted a distinguished audience, including Kakra Kofi Atta Kusi, the Deputy Director of Domestic Marketing at the Ghana Tourism Authority, and Mr. Jones Aruna Nelson, the Director of Corporate Affairs at the same organization. Chiefs from the Northern Region were also present to show their support for Chef Faila’s initiative.
In an interview with Channel One TV, Chef Faila shared her motivation for writing the cookbook. “The title Authentic Ghanaian Cuisine reflects my goal to promote our culture, heritage, and people while also creating job opportunities for the youth,” she explained.
Cookbook Details
Chef Faila revealed that the cookbook is currently available for auction. The final selling price will be determined by her team. “So far, we have printed over 500 copies, but the price will be set after the auction,” she stated.
Record Attempt and Culinary Showcase
Earlier this year, Chef Faila attempted to break the world record for the longest cooking marathon, which lasted from January 1st to January 10th at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale. During this marathon, she showcased her culinary skills by preparing various traditional Ghanaian dishes. The event also featured rich cultural displays from the Northern Region, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Although Chef Faila did not surpass the official record of 119 hours set by Alan Fisher due to technicalities, the Guinness World Records organization acknowledged her efforts and encouraged her to pursue future record attempts.
Chef Faila’s cookbook launch not only highlights her culinary talents but also emphasizes her commitment to promoting Ghanaian culture and supporting local communities.
