A Strategic Location for a New Restaurant
Maison Grill has officially opened its doors in Épron, a charming eco-neighborhood called L’orée du golf. Located on the Central Square, the restaurant welcomed its first guests at the end of August 2024. Mélissa Soytoprak, the restaurant manager, expressed excitement about the location. “We had been searching for a space for a long time, and this one caught our eye due to its strategic position between Caen and the sea. We received it in raw concrete, which allowed us to create everything we wanted.”
A Family Affair in the Kitchen
Maison Grill is not just a restaurant; it is a family venture. Mélissa runs the establishment alongside her husband, Mehmet, her father-in-law and head chef, Ali Soytoprak, and her aunt, Tania Noël, who handles the service. This opening marks the realization of a dream the couple had for a decade.
A Bright and Modern Dining Experience
The restaurant features a bright and airy dining area with a capacity for about fifty guests. The decor is modern and understated, with all the furniture imported from Turkey. At the back, an open kitchen showcases a wood-fired grill, which is key to cooking their specialties—beef, chicken, and lamb.
A Diverse Menu of Franco-Turkish Delights
Guests can expect a variety of Franco-Turkish dishes prepared on-site. The menu includes typical appetizers like cacik, a refreshing mix of yogurt, mint, cucumber, and garlic. Main courses feature grilled meats served with bulgur, rice, or homemade fries. For dessert, patrons can enjoy a selection of Turkish and classic pastries.
Mélissa notes, “We offer two traditional dishes: beyti kebab and iskender, which we are the only ones serving in Caen.” The beverage menu features beer, wine, and traditional Turkish tea. For those on the go, Maison Grill also provides takeout options.
Growing Popularity and Reservation Recommendations
Since opening, the restaurant has seen a positive response from the community. Mélissa advises customers to call ahead to make reservations, especially on Saturdays.
