Since opening in 2016, Ambar Clarendon has offered Arlington diners a distinctive taste of the Balkans, blending authentic flavors with contemporary culinary techniques.
A Unique Dining Experience
Ambar’s “unlimited” dining concept invites guests to explore a diverse array of Balkan cuisine through a multi-course, all-you-can-enjoy menu. This approach sets the restaurant apart from the traditional dining formats.
“Our unlimited dining concept allows guests to fully experience the rich variety of Balkan cuisine,” says Uros Smiljanic, one of Ambar’s partners. “It’s an immersive way to sample the dishes we are proud to serve.”
A Taste of the Balkans
Specializing in Balkan-inspired small plates, Ambar’s menu features a wide range of dishes, from savory pies to grilled meats and seasonal vegetables. Standout items include the Slow-Cooked Lamb and their innovative Rakia-based cocktails, showcasing Balkan flavors with a fresh twist.
Participating in Arlington Restaurant Week
From October 14-21, Ambar Clarendon will join 60 other local establishments in the 2024 Arlington Restaurant Week, hosted by the Arlington Chamber of Commerce. This event provides an excellent opportunity for diners to discover new favorites and sample exclusive offerings from participating restaurants.
“For Arlington Restaurant Week, we’re excited to offer our signature unlimited dining experience for both lunch and dinner,” Smiljanic said. “Guests can enjoy unlimited servings of our popular small Balkan plates, including slow-cooked lamb, savory pies, mezze spreads, and more, all for a special prix fixe price.”
Celebrating Community Through Cuisine
Beyond offering a memorable dining experience, Restaurant Week also allows chefs and restaurateurs in Arlington to connect with and express their gratitude for the community they serve.
“Arlington has a vibrant, diverse community that truly appreciates good food and hospitality,” Smiljanic said. “We love being part of this dynamic neighborhood and take pride in contributing to its rich food culture by offering an authentic Balkan experience with a modern twist.”

The Arlington Chamber of Commerce is organizing Restaurant Week, with support from various sponsors. Amazon serves as the presenting sponsor, while Arlington Conventions & Visitors Service, Ballston BID, National Landing, and Virginia Spirits are premier sponsors.
