M6 Showcases Regional Cuisine in New Series
As part of its new culinary series, the French television channel M6 has traveled to Occitanie to launch La Meilleure Cuisine régionale, c’est chez moi. In this show, chefs Norbert Tarayre and Yoann Conte will evaluate the unique specialties of various regions. Given the show’s location in Occitanie, cassoulet—a traditional dish from the area—is expected to be a key feature. One notable participant is Jean-Baptiste Marty, a prominent restaurateur from Castelnaudary, known for his award-winning cassoulet at Chez Marty.
Chef Marty’s Recent Accolades
Chef Marty, who previously hinted about the show in Voix du Midi Lauragais, continues to ride the wave of his success from the 2024 World Cassoulet Championship held in Toulouse. This prestigious competition was presided over by Michelin-starred chef Michel Sarran. Marty’s cassoulet triumph has also earned him appearances, including a recent feature on the popular YouTube channel of McFly and Carlito.
The Show’s Format: Judging Regional Delicacies
The format of La Meilleure Cuisine régionale, c’est chez moi will see chefs Norbert Tarayre and Yoann Conte traveling across France each week to sample local delicacies presented by eight different restaurateurs.
Each day from Monday to Thursday, two chefs will compete to impress the judges. According to M6, “Chefs Norbert Tarayre and Yoann Conte will give four ratings to each restaurant: hospitality and decor, the appetizer, the first main course, and the second main course. The restaurant with the highest average score will proceed to the Friday finale to compete against the week’s other winners.”

Occitanie will be the first region to host this culinary competition, which will run from Monday, October 7, to Friday, October 11, 2024. Alongside Jean-Baptiste Marty, the following restaurateurs will also compete:
