Students and Local Officials Share a Special Meal
The central kitchen of La Suze-sur-Sarthe participated in the national event Le Grand Repas on Thursday. The initiative, part of the region’s Territorial Agricultural and Food Project (PAAT), aimed to unite citizens across the country by serving the same menu on the same day.
A Regional Culinary Celebration
The central kitchen in La Suze-sur-Sarthe prepared meals for local schools, housing facilities, and home deliveries as part of the event. Chef Jérôme Lebreton from the Antiquaire restaurant in Laval created the menu, which featured locally sourced ingredients. The meal included:
- Creamy beetroot with raspberry vinegar
- Veal sauté with apples and buckwheat risotto
- Butternut squash and white chocolate éclair
Sabrina Breton, deputy mayor, explained that while the menu could be adapted, the focus was strictly on using local products.
A Community Gathering
The central kitchen prepared approximately 500 meals, including those for the students of École des Châtaigniers, who shared the meal with several local officials. Pascal Jamois, Sébastien Hérissé, and the kitchen staff worked diligently to deliver these meals, marking a memorable day of community and local cuisine.
