Elvira’s, a celebrated restaurant known for its inventive Mexican cuisine from Southern Arizona, is set to open its doors in DC Ranch this November. The new upscale eatery promises to deliver an unforgettable dining experience, highlighting the rich flavors of Mexico City.
A Partnership of Passion
Elvira’s DC Ranch is a collaboration between renowned Chef Rubén Monroy and restaurant developer Tom Kaufman. The two met through their shared love of food, wine, and hospitality, which laid the foundation for this exciting venture.
Stunning Ambiance
The restaurant will feature an impressive two-story layout spanning 3,600 square feet. Guests can expect a beautifully designed space that resembles a fine-dining Mexican cocina, blending tradition with modernity. The interiors will include candlelit areas, private velvet seating, limewashed walls, antique mirrors, and a walk-in, temperature-controlled wine cellar. The atmosphere will be enhanced by soulful music, ensuring a memorable dining experience.
Chef Christopher George, Director of Culinary and COO at Kaufman Hospitality, will oversee the restaurant’s operations. He has previously collaborated with Chef Monroy on various projects, including The Living Rooms in DC Ranch and other locations. Together, they have curated a menu that emphasizes elevated Mexican fare, featuring signature moles crafted with up to 28 ingredients, fresh seafood, and dry-aged beef. The menu will also showcase high-quality products sourced from local and Mexican farmers. Notable dishes include Blistered Shishito Peppers, Marinated Grilled Prawn Escabeche Salad, Cuitlacoche and Chicken, Prime Flank Steak Molcajete, and Hazelnut Mole.
Celebrating Mexican Culture
Chef Monroy emphasizes the significance of mole in Mexican cuisine, stating, “Mole is the epitome of Mexican culture, identity, and cuisine.”
A Unique Drink Menu
Elvira’s DC Ranch will also offer a diverse cocktail selection, featuring premium wines, tequilas, mezcal, and unique twists on margaritas, mojitos, and martinis. Guests can expect fresh ingredients, some of which are native to Mexico. A must-try dessert on the menu is Elvira’s Flan Custard.
