Festival Details
The 2024 Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival is set to take place on November 10 at Miramar Regional Park. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better, according to co-founder Eddy Edwards. The new venue allows for increased space, accommodating more vendors and activities.
“This year, we have chosen a different location in the park, which offers more room for the additional vendors and new festival features. Attendees will have more chances to interact with sponsors and enjoy activities on the Publix Culinary Stage,” Edwards explained.
VIP Experience
The VIP experience has also been enhanced. Guests can expect comfortable seating, unlimited beverages, and a variety of delicious dishes, all with front-row access to the stage.
Popular Features
The festival will include several beloved features that have been part of the event since it began in 2001. The Publix Culinary Stage will host cooking demonstrations by Chef Irie and Chef Darian from Boston. Additionally, a celebrity cook-off will feature Local 10 reporter Alexis Fraser competing against Kris Anderson of NBC6, while local Celebrity Chef Alain Lemaire will face off against Chef Winston Williams.
Entertainment Lineup
While specific artists have yet to be announced, Edwards mentioned that the entertainment will include a mix of classic reggae and dancehall acts, along with local Florida performers.
Anticipated Turnout
The 2024 Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival occurs just five days after the U.S. elections, where Vice President Kamala Harris will face Republican Donald Trump. Edwards expects a large turnout, recalling the significant attendance in 2008 when Senator Barack Obama won the election.
“When Obama won, we saw a huge turnout because people were in a celebratory mood. We anticipate a similar situation if Vice President Kamala Harris wins on November 5,” he said.
