Diwali Festival to Support Stray Animal Rescue

Guru’s Indian Cuisine in Newtown is organizing a massive Diwali celebration on Saturday, October 19, from 5 to 10 p.m. at Rafter’s, located at 101 Friend’s Lane. The event will raise funds for Guru’s Guardian Angels, a nonprofit founded by Priya Trivedi, which is dedicated to rescuing and sheltering stray animals around the world. All proceeds from the event’s $25 admission fee will go directly to support this cause.

Diwali: A Festival with a Purpose

Diwali, one of the most important holidays in Hindu tradition, symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. This year, the festival holds special significance for Priya and her family, as they plan to use the celebration to further their mission of animal rescue.

“I am focusing on building a dog sanctuary in Bucks County in 2025,” explained Priya, who is actively seeking a suitable property for this ambitious project. She has dedicated her life to helping stray animals and is raising funds to make this dream a reality.
