A Fresh Culinary Experience
Sergio and Javier Torres, renowned figures in high cuisine, have opened their latest venture, Eldelmar, in Barcelona’s Port Olímpic. Launched on October 11, the restaurant aims to deliver quality seafood without the pretension often associated with fine dining.
Focus on Quality Ingredients
“We focus on quality products with minimal intervention,” says Javier Torres. The menu highlights fresh fish and seafood, showcasing what’s available daily from the Barceloneta fish market, alongside Galician specialties. The brothers emphasize simplicity in preparation, encouraging diners to share dishes and enjoy the stunning views.
Expansive and Inviting Space
Eldelmar boasts over 700 square meters, providing ample space between the open kitchen and the dining area. While final touches are being made to the décor, including the installation of a fireplace and vintage copper pots, the restaurant is designed to evoke Mediterranean vibes. Co-owners Ramón Rodríguez and Pía Pishkoohni have crafted an atmosphere filled with wood, ceramics, and greenery, alongside a wine cellar featuring over 400 coastal wine selections.
A Dream Come True
Rodríguez and Pishkoohni, both seasoned restaurateurs, have known the Torres brothers for years and encouraged them to open Eldelmar. Sergio describes the dining area as a balcony overlooking the sea, offering spectacular views of Port Olímpic. A dedicated area for snacks and cocktails will serve classic cocktails crafted with care around the bar and fireplace.
A Commitment to Excellence
Though it’s early in the restaurant’s journey, the kitchen is overseen by Italian head chef Carmine Memoli, who previously worked with the Torres brothers at Cocina Hermanos Torres. The team is committed to delivering consistent and flawless dishes, a challenge they embrace as they embark on this exciting new chapter.
