GOPIZZA, the rapidly rising Korean-origin brand, has expanded its reach by launching Dalkomi, India’s first-ever authentic Korean dessert brand. The brand made its grand debut on December 16th at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, marking the start of a sweet journey for dessert lovers across the country.
Dalkomi, which translates to “sweet” in Korean, is a sister brand under the GOPIZZA umbrella. It aims to introduce traditional Korean desserts to the Indian market, filling the gap left by the growing popularity of Korean cuisine but the limited exposure of its sweet offerings.
Exploring the World of Korean Desserts
While Korean barbecue and ramen have captured the hearts of many in India, Korean desserts have largely remained unexplored. Dalkomi is set to change that by bringing iconic and traditional desserts that have become popular in Korean culture, especially through K-dramas, movies, and shows.
At Dalkomi, customers can enjoy a variety of signature treats, including:
Bungeo-ppang: Fish-shaped pastries filled with red bean paste.
Kkwabaegi: Twisted Korean donuts.
Tanghulu: Candied fruits on skewers.
Punyangi: Korean dancing pudding.
Dosirak Cake: Bento-style cakes.
And much more, including Bubble Tea, Milkshakes, Coffee, and Gelato—all of which are currently trending in Korea.
Vibrant Ambiance and Immersive Experience
Spanning over 150 square feet, the Dalkomi store at Bengaluru Airport offers both global and local travelers a unique Korean experience. The store features an eye-catching, pink-themed interior and vibrant colors, creating a visually appealing atmosphere that enhances the indulgent experience.
One of the standout features of Dalkomi is the Hanbok Photo Zone at the entrance. Here, customers can wear traditional Korean attire, immersing themselves in Korean culture while savoring their desserts.
Expansion Plans and Future Growth
“We are excited to bring Dalkomi to India and offer travelers a taste of authentic Korean desserts like never before,” said Mahesh Reddy, CEO of GOPIZZA India. “Dalkomi celebrates the growing global interest in Korean culture and caters to India’s love for indulgent, innovative sweets. With its visually stunning and traditional flavors straight from the streets of Korea, Dalkomi is set to capture the hearts and palates of the residents.”
This launch marks the first step in Dalkomi’s ambitious growth strategy. The brand plans to open 50 stores across key metro cities, airports, and GOPIZZA locations by the end of FY 2025, aiming to set a new industry benchmark for premium desserts in India. With a commitment to high-quality ingredients, innovation, and visual appeal, Dalkomi is poised to redefine the dessert scene in India.
