London Calling, a restaurant dedicated to serving classic British dishes, has just rolled out a new menu as it continues its exciting expansion into Ipswich. Located in Felixstowe’s Beach Street since September last year, the restaurant has quickly become known for its traditional British fare, including hearty pies, beigels, and even jellied eels.
The restaurant is owned by brothers Joey and Louis James, who also run the popular Pan-Asian eatery Big Bro Bao and the dessert shop Old Skool Afterz.
New Additions to the Menu
The updated menu offers a variety of new and exciting options, perfect for lovers of British comfort food:
‘Buck & Beer’ Pie: A savory pie filled with wild venison.
‘You Feta Believe It’ Pie: A vegetarian pie made with spinach, feta cheese, and kale.
A large sharer pie made with six-hour slow-cooked ox cheek, perfect for sharing with up to three people.
These new additions are part of the restaurant’s ongoing effort to offer creative takes on classic dishes while maintaining the traditional flavors that customers love.
Expansion into Ipswich
The new menu comes as London Calling expands into Ipswich, with plans to open a location at the upcoming Tower Street Food Hall. The food hall, located in a £2 million renovated space in the former Yates building, is set to become a popular dining destination, featuring a variety of traders. Alongside London Calling and Big Bro Bao, other vendors include Slap and Pickle, The Bucket List, Dad and Daughter’s Pizza, and Titu’s Kitchen.
The food hall will also feature a dessert and coffee counter, two bars, and a dedicated bar area on the first floor. An official opening date will be announced soon once final preparations, including the installation of a glass door, are complete.
London Calling continues to bring its unique British flavors to new customers as it expands, making it an exciting new addition to Ipswich’s food scene.
