Five Guys, the popular fast-food chain known for its fresh, hand-formed burgers and crispy fries, is expanding in Broome County with the opening of a new location in Johnson City. This marks the second Five Guys restaurant in the area, following the successful operation of the Vestal location near Binghamton University.
The new restaurant will be located at Oakdale Commons in Johnson City, just a few miles from the Vestal store. The location is situated at the site of the former Ruby Tuesday restaurant, which had been a fixture in the Oakdale Mall for over three decades before closing in the spring of 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Opening Date and Features
The Johnson City Five Guys is set to open its doors on January 17 at 11 a.m. Representatives from FGNY (Five Guys New York) confirmed the opening date to WNBF News. The new 2,900-square-foot restaurant will mirror the layout of the Vestal Parkway location but with a few added features, including two ordering kiosks for a more modern ordering experience. Customers can also place orders traditionally at the counter.
With seating for 80 people indoors and an additional 20 seats outside (weather permitting), the Oakdale Commons Five Guys aims to provide a comfortable and spacious dining experience.
Convenient Hours and Job Opportunities
The Johnson City location will be open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., ensuring that customers can enjoy their favorite Five Guys menu items throughout the day. Around 30 employees have been hired to work at the new restaurant, further contributing to the local economy.
A Taste of Five Guys
Known for its hand-formed fresh beef patties and fries cooked in 100% peanut oil, Five Guys continues to earn a reputation for providing high-quality, flavorful fast food.
