Milkshake Factory, a popular dessert chain specializing in milkshakes and chocolates, is set to open its first Connecticut location in Stamford. The new shop is expected to open in the “first half of 2025,” marking a significant milestone in the company’s expansion. Caitlin Suter, who oversees marketing for Milkshake Factory franchisees, shared the news, expressing excitement about joining the Stamford community as part of the High Ridge Center.
“We are excited to join the community as part of High Ridge Center and the greater Stamford area,” Suter said in an email. “This is a huge milestone for us and part of a busy 2025 as we expand across the U.S.”
New Location at High Ridge Center
The new Milkshake Factory will occupy the space previously held by Cold Stone Creamery at Stamford’s High Ridge Center. Cold Stone recently closed its location, making way for the new dessert destination. However, a representative from Cold Stone Creamery was unavailable for comment regarding the closure.
History of Milkshake Factory
Milkshake Factory’s origins date back to 1914 when Greek immigrants Charlie and Orania Sarandou opened a chocolate shop and soda fountain in Pittsburgh. In 2003, the name “MilkShake Factory” was established, emphasizing the company’s commitment to offering a variety of inventive shake flavors.
Today, the company is still family-owned, with great-grandchildren continuing to lead its growth. Milkshake Factory now operates in locations across Michigan, North Carolina, Texas, and Utah, with plans for future expansions in Florida, Colorado, Arizona, and Connecticut. The new Stamford location will be part of the chain’s exciting U.S. growth.
