Cape Town’s food scene has just received a remarkable addition – a fine-dining restaurant on wheels. Bus Cuisine, launched in November 2024 by hospitality entrepreneurs Janse de Villiers and Jonathan Faurie, offers an unparalleled dining experience from a luxury double-decker bus while cruising along the city’s stunning Atlantic Seaboard.
A Scenic Journey with Gourmet Delights
Bus Cuisine takes guests on a six-course tasting journey with views of some of Cape Town’s most iconic landmarks. The bus departs from the Commodore Hotel at the V&A Waterfront and travels through popular areas including Mouille Point, Sea Point, Camps Bay, and Hout Bay.
Dining in Motion
The experience combines gourmet cuisine with breathtaking views, all while on the move. Guests begin their meal with a glass of bubbly and are treated to award-winning South African wines, paired expertly with each course. The chefs use locally sourced ingredients, ensuring that the meal reflects the flavors and traditions of the region.
Flexible Dining Hours and Reservations
Bus Cuisine operates from Monday to Friday for lunch and dinner, while Friday to Sunday also includes a breakfast service. Reservations can be made online, ensuring that diners secure their spot for this one-of-a-kind experience.
Exciting Future Plans
As part of their expansion, Bus Cuisine plans to introduce new buses and additional routes in the near future, further enhancing the mobile dining experience for those visiting Cape Town.
For a dining experience that combines culinary excellence with some of the best views in the city, Bus Cuisine offers something completely new for food lovers in Cape Town.
