Brad Kaemmer, a Vail native with over 30 years of hospitality experience, is set to open The Sixty Two Society, a luxury dining and social experience in Vail. This new restaurant will be more than just a place to eat – it’s an homage to Kaemmer’s roots in the community and the history of Vail itself.
A Legacy of Hospitality
For Kaemmer, returning to Vail was about creating something extraordinary in a town that’s been central to his family’s history. His parents, Julia and John Kaemmer, were pioneers in Vail’s early days. His father, who met the founders of Vail while working at the Denver Dry Goods Company, played a key role in establishing some of Vail’s first iconic restaurants, including the Clock Tower Inn, Pistachio’s, and La Piñata. This deep connection to the town’s growth inspired Kaemmer to bring his vision for a luxury experience back to Vail.
The Sixty Two Society: A New Kind of Vail Destination
The Sixty Two Society is named for the year Vail was founded, and it promises to be a unique slopeside destination that offers not only exceptional food but also a sense of community. The restaurant will feature a relaxed, casual atmosphere with an emphasis on high-quality food that caters to everyone.
“We want it to be a place that doesn’t disappoint,” Kaemmer said. “Where people can enjoy really good food and feel good being in the space.”
Kaemmer plans to offer a full range of dining experiences, from breakfast and lunch to après-ski and dinner. The focus will be on elevated cuisine that’s approachable and enjoyable. And while it will be a luxury destination, the prices will remain accessible, with dishes like burgers priced lower than what you’d find at Vail Mountain’s Two Elk Restaurant.
A Nod to Vail’s History
Kaemmer also plans to weave the history of Vail into the design of the space. One notable feature will be Donovan’s Copper Bar, named after local legend John Donovan, whose family played an important role in Vail’s history. The decor will honor the families and individuals who shaped Vail, offering a sense of nostalgia alongside modern luxury.
A Wine List for Everyone
As a passionate sommelier, Kaemmer is also focused on creating a wine list that will be one of the highlights of The Sixty Two Society. Rather than curating a list designed to win awards, Kaemmer’s collection will focus on wines that are approachable and complement the food, creating an experience that feels both refined and accessible.
Exclusive Member Perks
In addition to being open to locals and visitors, The Sixty Two Society will offer exclusive perks for members, including concierge services, ski-in/ski-out access, ski valet, transportation services, and access to the Society Suite. These members-only benefits are designed to elevate the experience for those looking for more than just a meal but a full-service destination.
Set to Open in 2026
The Sixty Two Society is slated to open in the summer of 2026, occupying the space currently home to Los Amigos. Kaemmer’s vision for this project is to offer something unique to both residents and visitors alike, making it a standout destination in Vail.
“We’re excited to team up with local partners to create a memorable experience,” Kaemmer said. “This is going to be a special place, where people can connect with the history of the town while enjoying elevated food and wine in an unforgettable setting.”
