Asia’s Top Chefs to Showcase Culinary Talent in Seoul Ahead of 50 Best Restaurants Event

In anticipation of the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants ceremony next month, some of the region’s most acclaimed chefs will take center stage in Seoul’s finest restaurants. These special collaborative dining experiences, called the 50 Best Signature Sessions, will run from March 22 to March 26. Reservations can be made through the local platform, CatchTable.

Born & Bred Kicks Off the Event with Chef Tam Kwok Fung

The 50 Best Signature Sessions will launch on March 22 at Born & Bred, an upscale Korean beef restaurant, which will collaborate with Chef Tam Kwok Fung from Chef Tam’s Seasons in Macau. Known for his expertise in Cantonese fine dining, Fung will blend Korea’s seasonal vegetables with his signature cooking techniques. Born & Bred’s chef, Min Kyung-hwan, will complement Fung’s creations with his renowned hanwoo (Korean beef) dishes. This exclusive dinner will be priced at 500,000 won ($348).

Fusion Flavors at Evett with Chefs Joseph Lidgerwood and Rodolfo Guzmán

On March 23, Evett, a one Michelin-starred restaurant led by Australian chef Joseph Lidgerwood, will team up with Chilean chef Rodolfo Guzmán from Boragó for a unique fusion dinner. Known for their artistic plating and innovative approach, the chefs will combine Asian and Latin American flavors, creating an unforgettable culinary experience for 350,000 won.

A Star-Studded Dinner on March 23: Mingles, The Chairman, Sorn, and Alla Prima

Later on March 23, a star-studded lineup of restaurants will collaborate for an extraordinary dinner. Michelin two-starred Mingles, Alla Prima, Hong Kong’s The Chairman, and Bangkok’s Sorn will join forces to present a high-end course priced at 750,000 won. Featuring chefs Danny Yip and Kwok Keung Tung from The Chairman, Supaksorn Jongsiri from Sorn, Kim Jin-hyuk from Alla Prima, and Kang Min-goo from Mingles—named The Best Restaurant in Korea 2024 by Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants—this meal will offer modern takes on traditional Asian cuisine.

Chef Chudaree “Tam” Debhakam Brings Thai Flavors to Seoul

On March 24, Bangkok’s rising culinary star, Chef Chudaree “Tam” Debhakam, will serve a Korean lunch with a Thai twist at Soul, a Michelin one-star restaurant in Seoul. As Asia’s Best Female Chef 2025, Debhakam will bring her sustainable cooking philosophy and passion for indigenous produce to Seoul. She will collaborate with Soul’s chefs Kim Hee-eun and Yoon Dae-hyun to craft a memorable meal priced at 350,000 won.

Teppan Grand Hyatt to Host Final Session

The 50 Best Signature Sessions will conclude on March 26 at Teppan, the teppanyaki restaurant within Grand Hyatt Seoul. While the guest restaurant for this final session has yet to be announced, it promises to close out the week of extraordinary culinary collaborations in grand style.
