The second edition of the India in Bahrain Festival attracted over 2,000 visitors to Dana Mall in Sanabis on February 21, 2025. The event, organized by the Indian Embassy in collaboration with Lulu Hypermarket Bahrain and Dana Mall, showcased India’s diverse cultural heritage through captivating performances, art exhibitions, and authentic cuisine.
A Grand Inauguration by Indian Ambassador
The festival was officially inaugurated by Indian Ambassador to Bahrain, Vinod K. Jacob. During the event, 17 Indian community associations performed classical and folk dances representing various regions of India, bringing the rich cultural traditions to life. The event was part of the Ministry of External Affairs’ Promotion of Cultural Ties with Diaspora (PCTD) initiative.
Art and Culture on Display
The festival featured an art exhibition titled India Through My Eyes, which displayed 42 paintings by 20 artists. This exhibition allowed attendees to explore India’s artistic diversity, offering a visual journey through the eyes of the artists.
Traditional Handicrafts and Cuisine
More than 20 Indian community associations set up stalls offering traditional handicrafts and authentic Indian cuisine, giving visitors a taste of India’s rich cultural fabric. These stalls provided an opportunity to explore Indian craftsmanship and savor a wide variety of flavors, further strengthening the connection between India and Bahrain’s residents.
Embassy Support and Consular Services
The Indian Embassy also provided additional support through a dedicated consular services counter, assisting visitors with any consular needs.
Strengthening Cultural Ties
The success of the festival underscores the Indian Embassy’s ongoing efforts to promote cultural exchange and strengthen the bonds between India and its diaspora community in Bahrain. By celebrating Indian art, culture, and cuisine, the festival continues to foster deeper cultural ties between the two nations.
