Berry Bar, the team behind Singapore’s popular chocolate-coated strawberries, is back with a matcha twist. This time, they’re serving matcha-coated strawberries at their new pop-up at the beloved Japanese cafe, Kyo Kohee, in Tanjong Pagar.
Limited-Time Matcha Strawberries
The Kyo Kohee pop-up, running until March 8, 2025, is offering a unique treat that has already gone viral on TikTok. Berry Bar’s matcha-coated strawberries bring together the perfect combination of fresh fruit and premium matcha chocolate, making them a must-try for fans of the viral dessert trend.
If you loved their chocolate-covered strawberries from the 2024 pop-up, you’ll definitely want to give these matcha-flavored strawberries a shot. With only a few days left to enjoy them, make sure to visit before the pop-up ends.
Pricing and Options
There are three sizes available for the matcha strawberries: mini ($5), regular ($15), and large ($20). Alternatively, you can choose a mixed cup of strawberries and bananas, available in two sizes: regular ($14) and large ($18). The regular-sized cup is perfect for sharing, especially between two people.
Once your cup is filled with your chosen fruit, it’s drizzled with a thick layer of matcha chocolate sauce, made with Kyo Kohee’s high-quality matcha powder. You can further customize your dessert by adding two toppings for an extra $1. Topping options include Fruity Pebbles, Biscoff crumbs, Oreo crumbs, sprinkles, and tiny marshmallows.
How the Matcha Strawberries Taste
The matcha-coated strawberries offer a delightful balance between the tanginess of the fresh fruit and the subtle bitterness of the creamy matcha and white chocolate sauce. While I was hoping the matcha flavor would be more prominent, the dessert still proved to be a delicious treat.
In a pleasant surprise, I found the banana version equally enjoyable. The natural sweetness of the bananas perfectly balanced the earthy matcha tones, making for a rich, flavorful combination.
A Pricey Yet Worthwhile Treat
Though on the pricier side, these matcha strawberries are definitely worth trying, especially if you’re a fan of the matcha-strawberry pairing. Don’t miss out on this limited-time pop-up!
