West Chester, PA – March 6, 2025 – West Chester’s culinary scene is expanding with the introduction of Chrisetta’s Kitchen, a new takeout spot offering authentic West African cuisine. Located in the basement of First Presbyterian Church, Chrisetta’s Kitchen is the latest venture by chef Chrisetta Nyepan, who brings her passion for Liberian cooking to the community.
A Culinary Journey Rooted in Tradition
Chef Nyepan, who learned to cook in her adoptive mother’s kitchen in Liberia, has honed her skills over the years, including experience running a restaurant in Philadelphia. By partnering with Senior Pastor Andrew Esqueda of First Presbyterian Church, Nyepan secured a space where she could share her flavorful dishes with the local community.
The menu at Chrisetta’s Kitchen features a variety of traditional Liberian and West African favorites. Standout items include Check Rice with gravy, Jollof rice with kidney beans, and vegan Cassava leaf with Fufu. Additionally, made-to-order chicken and fish dishes are available to satisfy a range of tastes.
A Menu of Flavorful, Handmade Dishes
Nyepan’s menu rotates daily and focuses on using unrefined, handmade ingredients to create rich, authentic flavors. The dishes have quickly become a success among locals. Recently, Nyepan hosted a “Sweet and Savory” West African Bake Sale to celebrate Black History Month, further cementing her presence in the community.
Chrisetta’s Kitchen is open Monday through Saturday from 4 PM to 9 PM. Customers can place takeout orders through Uber Eats, Doordash, and GrubHub, making it easy to enjoy Nyepan’s delicious meals at home.
