Blue Bell Goes Bananas with New Ice Cream Flavor: Banana Fudge

by Ella

Blue Bell Creameries, the Texas-based ice cream maker, is making waves with the launch of its new Banana Fudge Ice Cream. This limited-edition flavor takes a delicious trip down memory lane, bringing back a beloved frozen treat that the company sold in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s: the Banana Fudge Bar.

The new ice cream flavor is already available in stores and has been created by blending the company’s signature milk chocolate ice cream with banana-flavored ice cream, resulting in a smooth and indulgent treat.

The Perfect Blend of Flavors

According to Sara Schramm, Blue Bell’s marketing brand manager, the combination of chocolate and banana is a winning one. “Chocolate and banana ice creams are popular treats all on their own. But swirl these two in one carton, and you have an incredibly smooth and delicious dessert,” Schramm said. The company is confident that this fusion of flavors will satisfy both chocolate lovers and banana ice cream enthusiasts alike.

A Blast from the Past

For long-time Blue Bell fans, this new ice cream flavor will likely bring back fond memories of the Banana Fudge Bar, which was sold by the company through ice cream trucks in the South during the 70s, 80s, and 90s. The bars, which featured a combination of banana and chocolate, were a popular frozen treat that many fans have been clamoring to see return.

“We know our fans still crave the frozen snack bars on a stick that featured banana and chocolate,” Schramm shared. Over the years, Blue Bell has received numerous requests to bring back the Banana Fudge Bar, and in response, the company decided to reinvent the flavor as an ice cream.

Limited-Time Offering

The new Banana Fudge Ice Cream is now available on store shelves for a limited time. It can be found in both half-gallon and pint sizes in states where Blue Bell products are sold. The ice cream is also available for nationwide shipping if it’s not available in local stores.

This latest release is part of Blue Bell’s strategy to bring popular, nostalgic treats back to life as ice cream flavors, following the success of their Strawberry Toaster Pastry Ice Cream, which was launched earlier this year.
