After outgrowing the space in her family’s grocery store, El Bodegón Latin Market, Martinez decided to create a dedicated space for her bakery and desserts. Located at 5201 Nicholson Drive, Suite F, the café occupies a spot once home to businesses like Toasted and Bright Side Bar & Daiquiris.
“We signed our lease in November and worked hard to get everything ready,” Martinez shared. The result is a bright and inviting space with pops of greenery, a cheery greeting from Martinez and her family, and a wide array of mouthwatering desserts on display.

In addition to offering a range of desserts, Alexa’s also features a small market stocked with imported goods from Venezuela, Honduras, and Colombia. Martinez explained, “Whenever someone comes in for a dessert, they often end up checking out the market too. We carry things that aren’t easy to find elsewhere, like imported candies and snacks that pair well with our desserts.”

As Alexa’s Dulceria & Market continues to grow, Martinez envisions expanding her brand to more locations, each with its unique vibe and decor. In addition to growing her business, Martinez is focused on connecting with her community and giving back to the area that has supported her from the beginning.
“I feel like we have a lot of space here to grow, and we’re reaching a diverse group of people,” Martinez shared. “It’s been amazing to see the reception we’ve received, and I’m excited for what’s to come.”
