New Dining Spots in Minneapolis, St. Paul, and the Surrounding Areas
Liliana – Woodbury
Location: 10060 City Walk Dr., Woodbury
Opening: Ongoing
Liliana is the latest venture from the owners of Estelle and Mario’s in St. Paul. Led by chef Jason Hansen and managed by Kenzie Edinger, formerly of Saint Dinette, the restaurant offers Italian-inspired dishes. After years of searching for the perfect location, Liliana finally opened, with a menu that highlights bold culinary talent.
Stone & Oak – White Bear Lake
Location: 4466 Centerville Rd., White Bear Lake
Opening: Soon
Once a car wash, this new supper club from Stonehouse Catering is now transforming into Stone & Oak. Owner Lisa Stonehouse and chef Adam Johnson, known for their work at Kincaid’s and Public Kitchen, are offering a menu featuring poke nachos, miso halibut, steak, and truffle fries.
Chi-Chi’s – St. Louis Park and Maple Grove
Location: St. Louis Park and Maple Grove
Opening: Summer 2025 (St. Louis Park), Fall 2025 (Maple Grove)
The iconic Chi-Chi’s Mexican restaurant is returning, with locations in St. Louis Park and Maple Grove. Michael McDermott, son of Chi-Chi’s founder, is reviving the brand by converting former Rojo Mexican Grills. Expect the classic fried ice cream and other popular dishes.
El Sazon Tacos & More – Minneapolis
Location: Eat Street Crossing, 2819 Nicollet Av. S., Mpls.
Opening: March 19, 2025 (soft opening), Grand opening later in March
After gaining popularity at an Eagan gas station, El Sazon Tacos & More is now opening in the heart of Minneapolis at Eat Street Crossing. Known for its delicious tacos, the restaurant will have a soft opening starting March 19.
Lago Tacos – Eagan and St. Louis Park
Location: 730 Vikings Pkwy., Eagan; 3801 Grand Way, St. Louis Park
Opening: Summer 2025 (Eagan location)
Lago Tacos is expanding with a new location near the Minnesota Vikings’ training camp and a move from Lyndale Avenue due to upcoming street construction. The new St. Louis Park location will take over the former McCoy’s Public House after May.
Tono Pizzeria + Cheesesteaks – North Loop
Location: 210 N. 2nd St., Mpls.
Opening: Summer 2025
Tono Pizzeria + Cheesesteaks, a local favorite, is expanding to the North Loop in the Wheelhouse development. This will be their latest addition, expected to open in the summer of 2025.
Abang Yoli – Minnetonka
Location: 12945 Minnetonka Blvd., Minnetonka
Opening: Spring 2025
Chef Jamie Yoo is opening a third Abang Yoli location in Minnetonka. Known for Korean and Malaysian comfort food, Abang Yoli gained popularity at Market at Malcolm Yards and will now bring its delicious double-fried Korean-style chicken and more to the west side.
Legendary Spice – Roseville
Location: Potluck, Rosedale Center, 1595 MN-36, Roseville
Opening: Late April 2025
Legendary Spice, serving Sichuan cuisine, will replace the Salad Slayer/Joey Meatballs counter at Rosedale Center. Founded in Chengdu, China, the restaurant will feature ramen, rice bowls, boba, and Chinese desserts.
Prince Coal-Fired Pizza – St. Paul
Location: 512 N. Robert St., St. Paul
Opening: April 2025
Formerly Black Sheep Pizza, the space on Robert Street will soon be home to Prince Coal Fired Pizza. The new owners are also behind Tono Pizzeria and Cheesesteaks, bringing their pizza expertise to St. Paul.
Big Star Tipsy Taco Bar – Minneapolis
Location: 2501 Marshall St. NE., Mpls.
Opening: Soon
Big Star Tipsy Taco Bar will replace Betty Danger’s in northeast Minneapolis, serving Tex-Mex and Texas-inspired barbecue. The location will keep its mini golf and custom Ferris wheel, as well as a dog-friendly patio.
ŠHOTÁ Indigenous BBQ – Minneapolis
Location: 2601 E. Franklin Av., Mpls.
Opening: Mid-2025
Bringing Sean Sherman’s Native American-inspired barbecue to the American Indian Cultural Corridor, ŠHOTÁ will open at the former Seward Co-Op Creamery in mid-2025.
Karol Coffee Company – St. Paul
Location: 1503 Hamline Av. N., St. Paul
Opening: Spring 2025
Karol Coffee Company, a small-batch roaster and coffee shop, honors Pope John Paul II. The space is currently under renovation, with the opening slated for spring.
Rustica – Wayzata
Location: 794 Lake St. E., Wayzata
Opening: Summer 2025
Jester Concepts is opening a new Rustica location in Wayzata, taking over the former Wuollet’s Bakery. The bakery will offer coffee drinks, homemade bread, and pastries, with an expanded menu coming soon.
Burger Dive – Roseville
Location: Rosedale Center, 1595 MN-36, Roseville
Opening: Spring 2025
Burger Dive is moving out of Potluck at Rosedale Center to its own location closer to the AMC movie theater. This smashburger-focused restaurant will expand its hours and menu to include breakfast.
Tres Bandidos Asadero Grill – St. Paul
Location: 143 Snelling Av. N., St. Paul
Opening: Soon
Tres Bandidos, a quick-serve spot serving charred meats like carnitas, barbacoa, and rotisserie chicken, is opening on Snelling Avenue. Expect a menu of sides, along with delivery to local colleges.
Feast Buffet – Woodbury
Location: 1690 Woodlane Dr., Woodbury
Opening: Spring 2025
Feast Buffet, a new seafood buffet from the owners of Sushi Train, is opening in the former Cowboy Jack’s space. The menu will include dim sum, hibachi, Cajun seafood boils, and more.
Jester Concepts – Excelsior
Location: 200 Water St., Excelsior
Opening: Spring 2025
The group behind popular Minneapolis restaurants like Borough and Parlour is opening three new restaurants in Excelsior. One, Parlour, has already opened, with two more coming in spring 2025.
