Students Explore International Cuisine at A.C. Moore Elementary School

by Ella

On Thursday, students at A.C. Moore Elementary School participated in a unique worldwide tasting event, allowing them to sample sandwiches from nine different countries. This event was designed to celebrate the diverse cultures represented within the school community.

A Taste of Different Cultures

The students had the opportunity to try sandwiches from Italy, Mexico, China, Russia, Honduras, Peru, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, and the Philippines. Each sandwich reflected the culinary traditions of its respective country, offering a flavorful introduction to global cuisine.

This tasting event was part of the school’s celebration of its Book of the Month for March, “The Sandwich Swap,” written by Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan and Kelly DiPucchio. The book explores themes of cultural understanding and the joy of sharing food, making it a fitting companion for the international sandwich tasting experience.
