McDonald’s fans in the United States are expressing extreme disappointment after learning about a range of new, creative desserts launching at international locations—none of which are available in the US. Recently, McDonald’s has introduced a variety of exciting new items through international collaborations, but US customers have been left wanting more.
One such collaboration is with Minecraft, offering a selection of themed desserts at McDonald’s locations in the UK, Canada, and Singapore. These include a unique Apple Cake McFlurry in the UK, a new Apple Shake in Canada, and three cotton candy-flavored treats in Singapore: a McFlurry, sundae, and cone. These items, highlighted in a recent Instagram post by @snackolator, have sparked a wave of frustration and excitement online.
Fans Express Frustration Over Missing Out
In their post, @snackolator shared their excitement over the Minecraft-themed desserts, pointing out that the Apple Cake McFlurry in the UK blends sour apple sauce, cake pieces, and apple chunks—a combination that many American fans would likely enjoy. Meanwhile, in Canada, the new Apple Shake pairs perfectly with the Minecraft meal, and Singapore’s cotton candy-inspired treats have caught the attention of fans worldwide.
Naturally, fans have reacted with disappointment over the fact that these mouth-watering items are not available in the US. “How come the United States doesn’t have any creative concepts?” one fan questioned in the comment section. Another fan chimed in, saying, “This would be so cool,” suggesting the idea of a “movie month-theme kids meal line” as a possible promotion for the future.
Some Fans Are Growing Frustrated
While some fans remained optimistic, others were less than thrilled. “No surprise, the US doesn’t get anything cool,” one comment read, while another fan humorously added, “Oh I’m going to become violent.” The lack of creative offerings in the US has left many McDonald’s lovers feeling overlooked.
In addition to the dessert frustration, McDonald’s ongoing ice cream machine issues were also brought up in the conversation. “But…is the machine going to WORK?” one fan wrote, poking fun at the notorious reliability problems with McDonald’s ice cream machines.
A Glimmer of Hope for US Fans
While these desserts are currently only available outside of the US, McDonald’s fans can still hope that some of these international treats will eventually make their way to American locations. After all, McDonald’s has occasionally brought over menu items from other countries if they prove to be successful. Until then, fans will continue to wait—and keep their fingers crossed that the next Minecraft collaboration includes the US on the menu.
