REV Kitchen & Bar: A Bold, Playful Dining Experience in Beverly

by Ella

REV Kitchen & Bar, located in Beverly, offers a lively and colorful dining experience that invites guests to indulge in a diverse menu of scratch-made dishes. With bright pop-art decor and cherry-red seating, the restaurant creates an electric ambiance perfect for any occasion. Despite the cold temperatures on the night of my visit, the restaurant was full of energy, and the convivial atmosphere was a warm contrast to the chilly weather outside.

Opened in 2019 and owned by restaurant veteran Nick Harron, REV Kitchen & Bar has quickly become a go-to destination in Beverly. Whether you’re craving pizza, steak frites, or churros, REV’s extensive menu caters to all kinds of tastes.

A Menu Full of Flavor and Fun

During my visit, my group and I indulged in a variety of dishes from every category, from greens to desserts, with plenty of options for gluten-free and vegetarian diets. Our meal began with an order of “crazy bread,” which turned out to be a simple yet delicious hand-stretched flatbread topped with garlic and mozzarella, served with marinara sauce for dipping. Paired with the bang bang shrimp—crispy shrimp wrapped in Bibb lettuce with a signature sauce, citrus-marinated cucumber, cabbage slaw, and spicy mayo—our appetizers were off to a fantastic start.

Next, we enjoyed two fresh and vibrant salads: the REV salad, featuring romaine, cucumbers, olives, mozzarella, tomatoes, and croutons tossed in a white balsamic vinaigrette, and the Chop Shop, a playful twist on the classic Cobb salad with bacon, bleu cheese, corn, jalapeño, pico de gallo, and a rich bleu cheese dressing.

Hearty Mains and Comforting Desserts

For the mains, we opted for a mix of hearty options. The re-union club sandwich was a standout, combining marinated grilled chicken, provolone, applewood-smoked bacon, avocado, pesto aioli, and balsamic reduction on toasted seven-grain toast. The eight-ounce marinated steak frites, served with truffle fries, caramelized Brussels sprouts and bacon, and steakhouse compound butter, was another satisfying choice. The crispy cauli bowl, filled with hand-battered cauliflower, garlic rice, corn and jalapeño salad, and avocado, was a tasty vegetarian option.

Of course, no meal would be complete without pizza, and REV’s large cheese pizza was exactly what my kids had been waiting for. To top off the meal, we enjoyed a plate of cinnamon-sugar-dusted churros with thick dipping chocolate and an espresso-mascarpone cream, offering a sweet and satisfying conclusion.

Refreshing Drinks and a Fun Vibe

As our meal came to an end, my kids finished their Shirley Temples, and I sipped on a refreshing black cherry no-jito, a zero-proof cocktail made with muddled mint, lime, simple syrup, and sparkling water. The drink was as refreshing as the overall experience at REV Kitchen & Bar—a place where there truly is something for everyone, no matter your craving.
