They already run a sushi bar on the top floor of the building, and now Knightsbridge café CLAP London (we think the jokes on that name have run out) has taken over the ground floor as well. Their newest restaurant, CLAP KA-FE, is a more casual spot where you can grab some sushi or Japanese pastries to take away or eat in.
Knowing how much Londoners love the thrill of trying out a new bakery, we got a sneak peek at the breakfast menu, which includes sweet treats like teriyaki raisin bread, chia seed parfait and a plate of seasonal fruit sashimi.
By mid-morning, the pastry selection has expanded again, with the likes of:
Saint-Honoré salty shiitake caramel
Strawberry shiso mille-feuille
Raspberry black sesame tart
Then come lunchtime, when locals or shoppers can head in for some savoury fare, including nigiri or bento sets, chicken and egg sandwiches and furikake sweet potatoes with spicy mayo.
To be honest, this menu sounds like something worth a serious look. Apparently, they’ll also serve matcha, sencha and artisanal coffee.
