Pizza Hut has never been shy about experimenting with its crust. From cheese fillings to hot dog fillings to pies with holes for dips, the Texas-based chain has long been into carb-heavy creations that some consider “unnecessary but enjoyable.”
Its latest? The return of the Cheesy Bites Pizza and the debut of the Ranch Lovers Flight—just in time for the March Madness snacking fest.
First introduced in 2006, the Cheesy Bites Pizza has fans drooling over it since its last launch six years ago. Instead of a standard crust, the pizza features 28 pieces of mozzarella-stuffed dough that can be torn apart, shared, or—let’s be honest—stocked up. More meant to be snacked than sliced, this pizza is the perfect excuse to get some sauce.
Which brings us to Pizza Hut’s new Ranch Lovers Package, a trio of limited-time dips crafted for the Cheesy Bites, all of which are ranch-flavored but with slightly different personalities. Includes:
Ultimate Ranch: A creamy, classic base model.
Chipotle Ranch: The ranch we know and love, but with a hint of smoky heat.
Pepperoni Ranch: This ranch doesn’t contain any actual pepperoni, but is flavored with the same herbs and spices.
While none of these are reinventing the ranch wheel, they’re still fun — and combined, they feel like a choose-your-own-dip adventure. For ranch lovers (you know who you are), it’s a complete experience.
“With the return of cheese pizza, we wanted to elevate the dipping experience even further,” said Rachel Antalek, head of food innovation at Pizza Hut, in a statement provided to Food & Wine. “The Ranch Lover’s Meal gives customers three unique ways to enjoy pizza, making it the ultimate dipping experience just in time for March Madness.”
Whether these ranch riffs become permanent fixtures remains to be seen, but they’re clearly designed for the Cheesy Bites format. Or, really, whatever you want to dip your ranch into — no judgment.
The full combo — a single cheese pizza with the Ranch Lover’s Combo — will be available on menus nationwide from March 26 to May 25 for takeout, delivery or dine-in at participating Pizza Hut locations. This limited-time offer comes just in time for NCAA tournament season, when snacking is at its peak.
To promote the pizza, Pizza Hut is also launching a new brand campaign featuring fictional pizza delivery man Peter Zahut, who is part pizza courier, part party boy. He will make his debut during the NCAA Sweet 16 tournament, bringing good vibes and, presumably, lots of napkins.
