Are you a comic book fan? Love the Batman movies? Can’t get enough of Wonder Woman’s powers? Apparently, so is Wendy’s.
On Thursday, Wendy’s announced that it is partnering with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products to launch a limited-edition line of Kids Meals toys to celebrate the DC Universe. According to Wendy’s, the toys will be themed around “superheroes and super-villains” and come in six collectible sets with a total of 18 mini-figures to collect.
However, Wendy’s wanted to make it clear that while these toys are only included with Kids Meals, adults can enjoy them, too.
“Don’t worry — this collaboration isn’t just for kids,” Wendy’s noted in a press release shared with Food & Wine. “Beginning April 14, fans can get a free Wendy’s Kids Meal and digital offer with the purchase of a premium meal on the app or website.” That means free toys, too.
As for how to get the toys, customers simply need to order a Kids Meal at Wendy’s between now and early June, either in-restaurant, through the Wendy’s app or on Wendys.com. In addition, they will receive a full Kids Meal, including four nuggets, a hamburger or cheeseburger, a small order of hot and crispy fries or apple nuggets, and a kid’s drink.
However, Wendy’s isn’t the only brand to get into the trendy toy space. McDonald’s also launched a Minecraft movie meal on April 1, which includes a Big Mac or 10 McNuggets, medium fries and a drink, as well as a limited-edition collectible toy. There are six collectibles up for grabs, including a Big Mac crystal, bird wings, French fry helmet, ghost face egg, soda, and zombie burger, all based on Minecraft characters. According to the company, the meal also comes with “a matching card and a code that fans can redeem to unlock the corresponding exclusive skin on the Minecraft Marketplace.” As Food & Wine previously reported, the McNuggets also come with the brand’s new spicy Hellfire sauce, inspired by Minecraft’s fiery lava-filled underground world called Hell. So maybe grab a Wendy’s meal tonight and a McDonald’s meal tomorrow, and start collecting them.
