BRISTOL, Tenn. (WJHL) — A local restaurant is opening a second location at the Bristol Sportsplex following the exit of Project BBQ.
On Tuesday, Bristol Gardens and Grill announced it will expand to The Patio at the Bristol Sportsplex.
Bristol Gardens and Grill will have a soft opening on Fridays from 5pm to 8pm and will be open on weekends from 11am to 8pm. After the soft opening, the restaurant will continue to operate with a limited menu and hours until the restaurant is fully staffed.
The restaurant opened its first location on Vance Drive in Bristol, Virginia in 2018. Bristol Gardens and Grill’s menu features wood-smoked meats and locally sourced produce and herbs.
Matt Shy, owner of Bristol Gardens and Grill, said in a press release that he is looking forward to opening a second location at the Bristol Sportsplex.
“We have been community-focused since day one, as have Matt and Hollie (Lavinder) at the Sportsplex, so this partnership feels like a natural progression,” Shy said. “We are very excited about this opportunity, and I’m sure athletes and the general public will enjoy the healthy cooking in our menu.”
Matt and Hollie Lavinder, husband and wife owners of Bristol Sportsplex, expressed their own excitement when the new menu was unveiled.
“The food is amazing,” said Hollie Lavinder. “Our family has been regular customers of Bristol Gardens and Grill for the past five years and has never been disappointed. The restaurant has always been popular so we are very much looking forward to Matt showcasing his menu at The Patio. We love working with other businesses in Bristol and are confident that with its locally sourced and grown ingredients, and Matt’s extensive restaurant management experience, this restaurant will be a wonderful addition to the Bristol community.”
