MASON, Ohio —A freeze-dried version of a Cincinnati ice cream classic is coming to Kings Island this year.
The popular blue ice cream will now be available in freeze-dried form.
The unique new dessert is the brainchild of a teenage entrepreneur.
Freezin’ with Aubrie has partnered with Kings Island to offer her freeze-dried dessert starting opening weekend.
Guests can find the treat in gift shops throughout the park.
Freeze-dried candies have become a popular dessert over the past few years, with many options created using the candy.
The concept takes regular candy and removes the water, giving it a light, crunchy texture.
Aubrie said she was inspired to buy her own freeze dryer after seeing freeze-dried candy made on TikTok.
Now, she owns her own shop in Florence, Kentucky, distributing treats to the Cincinnati Zoo, Jungle Jim’s, Plato’s Closet, Once Upon a Child, Cincinnati Museum Center, CVG Airport, Dorothy Lane Market, and now Kings Island.
Her idea has grown into a full-time business that now employs 22 people.
The business offers 100 varieties of freeze-dried sweet treats, including candies, ice cream, cheesecakes, toasted marshmallow sandwiches and cookies.
