Bubala’s Third Plant-Based Restaurant Opens In King’s Cross

by Ella

Bubala, the Middle Eastern plant-based restaurant that opened in Soho nearly three years ago, is now preparing to open its next outpost in King’s Cross.

The team behind the project are part of the new Cadence Court on the north side of the station, which is almost the final piece of the puzzle for the redevelopment of King’s Cross (about a 15-minute walk from the station). The layout of the new store is slightly different to the past, as it will be two floors this time (the upstairs is available for private hire) and has a fairly large outdoor terrace.

Chefs Ben Rand and Marc Summers are in charge of catering this time, and their menu will of course have many Bubala classics on it, such as confit potato cakes. There will also be some new dishes, including roasted cucumber tzatziki sauce and broad beans with vadouvan stew. The biggest surprise, however, is Bubala’s Big Pud, a real sharing dessert with chocolate mousse, caramelized bananas, coconut caramel, tahini and sesame crisp.

They have been a huge success elsewhere, so we saw that they would do very well in King’s Cross.
