Burger & Lobster Replaced Gordon Ramsay’s Street Burger

by Ella

On Kensington High Street, one burger chain has closed and another has taken its place – albeit this one with the added bonus of lobster.

The new owners are Burger and Lobster, and this will be their tenth restaurant in London. The branch will offer the usual menu: lobster, lobster rolls and burgers (although we have to say, lobster is still the star attraction here). They even have lobster croquettes.

The most surprising news is that this will be the first branch in London to launch a new brunch menu. The menu includes “The Full London” and “Breakfast Smash” – melted cheese and fried eggs sandwiched between fresh brioche buns, served with B&L eggs Benedict, with a choice of toppings such as lobster, smoked salmon or spinach.

It definitely should be better than the restaurant it replaces. Gordon’s Street Burger received some pretty bad reviews when it was operating before closing, with one recent review on TripAdvisor stating “I have never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant.” That said, while some UK media highlighted these reviews as the reason for its closure, their most recent reviews are 5-star, so you should at least take all of these reviews with a grain of salt.

Regardless, Burger & Lobster (based on our recent visits to other branches, of course) should fare much better at this location.
