When Supernova opened in Soho last year, it was an instant hit. Their carefully crafted scarcity, operating only on certain days and times from the outset, certainly helped. This meant that queues formed quickly and soon their burgers were the go-tos for a try.
It was also at the forefront of a burger revolution that continues to this day, and has seen competitors like Junk do well too.
Now, the same team (who are also behind Creme) are finally expanding, with their second Supernova location set to open in Mayfair this summer. Digging a little deeper, we discovered that they’ve taken over the very same location vacated by Saltie Girl. That store is much larger than the original Supernova, so there’s a good chance this one will have proper seating inside, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
Once open, expect it to be very similar in style to the original Supernova, with a similarly limited menu – burgers or cheeseburgers, fries and sundaes. Again, whether the larger space means more items on the menu remains to be seen.
This reveal is part of an early announcement from the Grosvenor Group, so we will add details as soon as we get more information. There aren’t many decent burger joints in Mayfair, so we think this one will be a very good prospect.
